The night was quiet, all the other students were in class. Lance had been let out of classes to go and prepare for the Young Covens Full Moon Ritual. The Ritual was taking place in the Temple. A Box of candles was slowly floating behind him. The Vampyers and Head Witch teachers had made rules about when magic could and could not be used, in the halls was one of the not times. But that still wasn't stopping Lance. It had been a week or longer since Lance had arrived at the House of Night with the other Witches. The only vampyer who he really felt relaxed around was that Zoey girl. He felt like they had a sort of connection. He had heard of what she had done earlier that year and he was slowly starting to realize what that connection was. The other Vampyers and fledglings were acting as if the Witches had something to prove to them before they could stay with them, and more then once Lance had seen a few eyeing him like a fresh meal.

The Temple was completely quiet. Zoey had been asked to help Lance prepare for the Young Covens Full Moon Ritual, just to make sure he knew where everything was. She didn't mind at all. Lance was a new witch at the school and she feels connected to him. She feels as though he understands everything she's been through. He's different. He's special. Just like her. She sat in the windowsill, twiddling her fingers, waiting for him.

((use past tense. other than that its good!)) Lance flicked his hand to make the door open. He turned and took the floating box and with a slight jump her began to rise into the air. The flew to a table and laid the candles on it. He grabbed a lighter and flew over to the high chandler lighting that hung from the ceiling. "Zoey you here?" he called out, knowing she was to meet him here. Once all the candles were lit he lowered himself to the ground. In the faint lighting their was still now obvious sign of Zoey.

She walked up behind him, silently. "That was awesome," she said. He jumped with surprise. "That is so cool that you can fly!" She smiled at him, as she stepped into the faint light. Her dark sapphire tattoos seemed to be shining in the candlelight. Her long black hair was pulled up in to a loose ponytail and she was wearing only a red tank and jeans.

"Huh?" he asked keeping his ground, his eyes adjusted a moment later as he saw Zoey walking toward him. "Oh that." His eyes went up to the ceiling. "Its nothing, been able to do it since I got my Witch mark." He extended his wrist to show the over matured markings. Lance wasn't sure how much Zoey knew about the witches. Maybe thats why she was so at ease with him. "So witch Circles are a bit different from yours. During our full moon we call to our Goddess AND our God. Also its more of spell craft then just a calling of the elements. So theirs some supplies in the box. Element candles. Sage, Frankincense and muir. Also their are two statues. one of the Goddess and one of the God. theirs also an athame in their." He paused for a moment. "Thats our tool we use to draw our circle." He moved to the box and pulled out a few of the items. the smell of the past ritual was still in the air. "So. what's all this talk about you being a player?" Lance asked a smirk on his face as he began to place the items on the alter that sat in the middle of the room.

"HA! Very funny!" Zoey laughed. "Okay...where to start...where to start." She smiled looking at Lance spell supplies. "Well, before I was marked I went out with this guy Heath, but we were broken up. He still wanted me badly though." Zoey paused and laughed a little. "Then I got here and fell in love with Erik Night. Yes the drama teacher, but he wasn't a teacher then. And then I was used by Loren Blake. I mean, I know it was partly my fault, but Loren knew how to work me. Then Stark came and he kissed me, but I really did feel a connection with him. It was weird and now he's a Red Vampyre and he's pledged himself to me. He even almost killed himself for me!" Zoey was talking 100 miles and hour. She paused when she saw Lance's face. "Yeah, yeah, four guys in a few months...it does seem like I'm a player. But I'm not I promise." She smiled sweetly at him then helped him put the candles in place.

"Wow, sounds like more drama then I could stand. Only dated one person, but thats over now." Lance said shifting his eyes to the darkness and letting out a breath to relax himself. He didn't feel the need to tell the details to Zoey, he wasn't even sure if he could one hundred percent trust her yet. The fact that his first, and last, love had been a guy back home, a Human guy, was just one thing to many for this conversation. "Its fine though. I'm here now and unlike before the House of Night means that Witches get the chance to leave their old life behind... it will feel good to start over again" he turned back to her a dull smile on his face. Once the candles were in place Lance finished arranging the tools on the Alter, finishing it off with a chalice of wine. He turned sharply on his heals to face Zoey, his arms behind him so he could lean back on the alter table. "So tell me, you have the gift of the elements right." it wasn't a question, he had already heard of her abilities. "Have you ever used them to fly?" he looked at her with a sly smile. His tattoo seemed to glow in the light, a sort of dark metallic green. All that was visible was the Pentagram and the complex vine like structures that were placed, prematurely, up his arm. The tattoos that Lance had were different, like Zoey's. No other Witch his age had markings like his. The vines ran up his arm attached to the pentagram that rested on the back of his wrist, so that it was only visible if you turned his arm over. The vines continued over his shoulder and to his back where markings that looked like wings were placed on his shoulder blades. He too was the only witch in history to have the gift of wingless flight.

"To fly? No. I don't...don't think it's possible, is it?" Zoey looked at Lance with wonder. Could she possibly be able to fly using the elements? She has done some many different things with her affinities, but never has she tried to fly. "I can, however, make myself invisible in the darkness." She smiled at him. "Watch." She walked away from the table and silently called the elements to her, asking them to cloak her. She was becoming very very good with calling and controlling the elements. It was becoming more and more like 2nd nature for her.

"Very cool" Lance said, keeping his excited feelings inside of him. He had heard she could do that. "But don't you control wind? couldn't you just ask it to, i don't know, lift you up?" He looked at were she had been not fully sure if she was still there. "I mean I'm no Peter Pan, but I know it take a hell of a lot more them a happy thought and some pixy dust to make you fly." as he said the words he slowly began to rise of the ground. "You know now that I think of it, I'm not sure what it takes to make a person fly... well besides the favor of their God and Goddess... well Goddess in your case." He looked around the room before crossing his legs indian style and sat there floating in mid air.

"That is so cool," Zoey said, still invisible. She silently thanked and dismissed the elements then walked back over to floating Lance. "I guess I could try." She smiled then stood still. Air I call thee to me. Please raise me into the air, She thought to herself. She felt the wind around her begin to pick up. Her hair was blowing wildly, then all of sudden it picked her up. She was flying. Instead of staying in mid-air like Lance, she continued to float up towards the ceiling. "Oh, crap," she said laughing. "Lower me please wind." The wind obeyed, bring her back down to Lance's level.

Rowan walked across the school grounds a light wind blowing her hair into her face. She looked skyward and saw the full moon in all it's glory. She took a deep breath and a smile graced her lips. Even as a human she had been a night owl, but now that she was a vampyre she understood why she felt so much safer in the darkness of the night. She pushed the doors to the entrance hall open and stepped inside, closing the doors behind her. She spun around and froze when she saw Zoey and Lance floating in mid air. Her eyes grew large as it finally registered in her head that the two weren't actually on the ground. "I uh- Sorry!" she said. "I didn't mean to intrude."

Zoey turned around when she heard the voice. "Hello," she said. She silently asked air to lower her down and it obeyed. She smiled at the girl who was standing by the entrance. "It's no problem. We weren't doing anything important. She turned and smiled back at Lance. "I'm Zoey Redbird," she said walking towards the girl. "I don't believe we've met before."

Rowan shook her head quickly, snapping back to reality. "Uh, no, no we haven't" she said with a polite smile, 'But of course I know who you are, everyone knows who Zoey Redbird is' she thought to herself, although not saying it for it would be impolite to say such things when first meeting someone. "I'm Rowan Draefus" she said, pushing her long brown hair from her face and attempting to tame it slightly after the wind had blown it askew outside. Rowan quickly glanced at Lance, she recognized him as being one of the new witches welcomed to the House of Night but his name escaped her at the moment.

Lance lowered himself so that he was standing less then an inch off the ground and swiftly moved over to the new girl. "Well hello Rowan, I'm Lance." He held out his and and gave her a smile. "Its a pleasure to meet you." He looked at her once over, his hand still stretched in that second. She was an attractive girl, then again most vamps were, something in the genetic mutation of their body made them take on enhanced physical appearances. Her crescent moon sat almost delicately on her head, Lance began to wonder if it was jsut him who saw this in the girl or if others would notice it as well.

"Nice to meet you" she said taking Lance's hand and shaking it gently as she looked up at the boy. She couldn't help but stare into his grey eyes for a moment, and once she realized that she was staring at him, not to mention still holding onto his hand. Rowan quickly let go of Lance's hand and her blue eyes dropped to the floor, she could feel her pale cheeks begin to turn pink. It didn't help that she was naturaly shy when meeting people but there was something about Lance that almost entranced. It was then that she noticed he was still floating above the ground. "Can all witches float like that?" she asked looking back up but not meeting his eyes.
